About

This symposium aims at bringing together researchers from academia and industrial R&D, as well as industrial manufacturers/service providers, working in the broad field of bio-tribology. It involves bio-tribology related to hip and knee joints, skin, hair, spines, shoulder, orthopaedic implants, materials, devices, etc. Both academic/applied researchers and industry professionals would find this symposium an excellent forum to present their works, exhibit products and services or network with people with similar interests.

Important Dates

Abstract Submission

Symposium accepts abstracts (only oral)  based on original research work. The abstract should be submitted at below given link.

Publication of a refereed proceeding is planned if enough number of papers will be submitted.

Awards and Publication

Submitted and reviewed papers from this symposium will be published as chapters in Springer's Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering. Those wishing to publish must submit the full manuscript by 1 June 2024.

Best oral paper and runner up award certificates will be provided by Springer. This will also include a voucher worth of Euro 100 to the winners for purchase of any publication from Springer. Authors wishing to be considered for these awards must submit full paper manuscript for review for the book chapter in Springer's Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering (indexed in SCOPUS, SCImago, INSPEC and others) by 1 June 2024.

Young Tribologist Awards
supported by Taiho Kogyo Tribology Research Foundation (TTRF), Japan

Organizing committee is glad to announce that Young Tribologist Awards will be given during this symposium among the presenting authors for their contributions to bio-tribology research. The selection will be based on

(1) the filled nomination form in the format provided,

(2) quality of oral presentation during the symposium, and 

(3) the quality of the chapter submitted.

​

  • Submission of the chapter is essential by the deadline of 1 June 2024 in the format provided. The chapter will undergo review and if accepted, it will be published in Springer’s ‘Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering’.

  • The applicant must be of age 36 years or less on 3 June 2024 (Date of birth should be 3 June 1988 or later) and must not belong to industry or any for-profit organization.

  • Also, the applicant must not have received this award in any conference in the last 5 years.
